Topic: DBA Toolkit, SQL Functions

Beginning with SQL Server
2000, Microsoft enabled developers to use user defined functions(UDFs) within
their database architectures in order to aid in abstracting our T-SQL code and
to streamline certain operations. Now with 2005, and 2008 on the way, developers
have even more flexibility available to make their lives easier. However, I am
often surprised at the vast number of developers that have never even used UDFs.
This presentation will strive to demystify some of the logic behind user defined
functions and give specific examples of where they can benefit your database
query designs.
